GPU driver advice

PC handheld: Android GPU driver packages don't apply. Use the vendor driver (AMD Adrenalin / Intel Arc on Windows, or SteamOS / your Linux distro's Mesa updates).

Day-one checklist

  1. Run Windows Update and the maker's control app (Armoury Crate, Legion Space, MSI Center M, etc.), and update the BIOS from the official support page.
  2. Install the latest AMD Adrenalin / Intel Arc graphics driver from the vendor site, or update SteamOS.
  3. Set a TDP/performance profile per game, and cap FPS to match the screen (40/60).
  4. Use FSR/XeSS upscaling in-game before lowering texture quality.
  5. For emulation, use the desktop builds of the emulators. ES-DE is free on PC.
